One man arrested in connection with murder
Police have launched a murder investigation following the death of a woman in Ballymena.
The body of a 32-year-old woman was found at a house in the Centuripe Avenue area in the early hours of Sunday morning.
She has now been named as Denise Dunlop.
A 41-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death.
He has been taken to Ballymena PSNI station for questioning.
The cause of the woman's death is not yet known.
Sinn Fein MLA Daithi McKay said: "The community here are shocked at what has taken place in an otherwise quiet part of the town.
"People's thoughts and prayers are with the family of this young woman at this difficult time."
Ballymena councillor Declan O'Loan has expressed shock following the death.
"Like everyone in Ballymena, I am shocked and saddened to hear of this tragic news," the SDLP man said.
"I express my sympathy to the victim’s family, and my thoughts and prayers are with them at this heartbreaking time.
"The matter is under police investigation and we should await the outcome of that, and I urge anyone with any information to contact the PSNI immediately."
