Murdered man Danny McKay's father tells of family's anguish
The father of the man shot dead in Newtownabbey last week has spoken about the loss of his “big son” at the hands of “evil” murderers.
Father-of-one Danny McKay (36) was shot several times by gunmen who burst into the living room of his Longlands Road home last Thursday.
Police are investigating a possible link to drugs and dissident republicans. Three men who were arrested have now been released.
Danny McKay senior condemned the gunmen as “evil people who have no regard for human life”.
“Our family is totally heartbroken. People said Danny boy was a drug dealer, but he was our big son, a brother and a father to his daughter of 12,” he said. “Anyone who knew him knew he was a big gentleman. Let's hope and pray these killers are caught quickly.”
