New £13m Northern Ireland hospice opens doors
After six years of planning and two of construction, staff at the Northern Ireland Hospice have celebrated the opening of their new state-of-the-art facility.
The doors of the £13m building in north Belfast were finally thrown open yesterday.
The world-class hospice will provide palliative care for patients with a wide range of life-limiting illnesses at the site of an old hospice on Somerton Road.
The unit, which has 18 beds, will also operate a special service for people with dementia.
