The new Dean of Belfast will be installed in St Anne's Cathedral next Tuesday evening at a service to be attended by religious, civic and community leaders and people from the main denominations in Northern Ireland.

Those taking part at the Reverend Canon John Mann's installation will include the Bishop of Connor, the Rt Revd Alan Abernethy, the Archdeacon of Belfast, the Venerable Barry Dodds, and the Archdeacon of Down, the Venerable Philip Patterson.

Canon Mann (56) has been rector of St John's, Malone, since 2002 and earlier served in parishes in Northern Ireland and England.

He succeeds the former Dean Dr Houston McKelvey who retired from office earlier this year.
