A NEWLY completed million pound housing scheme has been welcomed and endorsed by |locally elected representatives.

On Monday July 5, a host of political representatives came to view the Trinity sheltered housing scheme at Belfast Road, Comber, with Trinity chief executive, Arthur Canning.

MP Jim Shannon told the Community Telegraph:

“I welcome this new scheme, Comber is in need of this.

“The fact that it has come is due to the dedication from Trinity in making this happen.”

A spokesperson from Trinity Housing said: “The representatives were very impressed with the scheme and delighted that such high quality housing is being provided in this area.

“The scheme will provide ten two-bedroom sheltered apartments.

“The scheme went on site in 2009 and was completed this month, at a cost of £1,013,286.”

The scheme has been built to Code 3 Sustainable Homes standard, which will result in a reduced carbon footprint for the tenants.

The apartments have also achieved Lifetime Homes standard, which means that tenants should be able to live there for the rest of their lives in total comfort should they desire.
