New task force a boost for NI motorsport
Motorsport's growth in Northern Ireland is set to accelerate with the establishment of a new government task force.
Aimed at improving safety and increasing motorsport's popularity, the new task force will include representatives from the sport, stakeholders and government officials. Sports Minister Paul Givan said £20,000 had already been secured for the new endeavour.
It follows £500,000 of Stormont funding last year for safety upgrades and equipment.
Mr Givan said while motorsport provides spectacle and excitement, it faces significant challenges. "While we can never make motorsport free of any risk, we can take steps to improve safety for competitors and spectators alike."
