New trains help take the strain
No more will rail passengers in Northern Ireland have to put up with "rickety old" trains.
The wait for new Class 4000 trains in Larne is finally over as Translink unveiled the first of its new fleet yesterday.
The Larne line is the last route in Northern Ireland to get the new trains. The older Class 450 and Class 80 trains will now be sold for scrap.
Regular complaints about the old service included breakdowns, lack of heating and rain in carriages.
Jack and Shirley McCready got on at Central Station to go to Greenisland.
"We have waited a long time for this," Shirley said.
"It's fabulous. It's got that fresh new smell. It will definitely be a more pleasant journey from now on."
