A 26-year-old Newry man has died in a suspected hit and run in New York.

Kevin Bell was found unconscious on East 233rd Street in the Bronx on Sunday morning, according to US media.

A pedestrian called the NYPD and officers believe Mr Bell was struck by a car at about 3.30am.

Police said they do not yet have a description of the car.
