A couple have been robbed at gunpoint in their Co Antrim home.

They were threatened by two masked men who entered the house in Ballycraigy Gardens, Newtownabbey, just before 11pm on Monday.

The robbers stole a white Peugeot 308 car, which was found on fire in Kiln Road a short time later, and a handbag.

Detective Sergeant Colin Gray, from the Police Service of Northern Ireland, has urged witnesses to come forward.

He said: "I would appeal to anyone who noticed any suspicious activity near Ballycraigy Gardens or Kiln Road on Monday evening to contact detectives at Antrim on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
