Newtownabbey security alert: Hollybrook Crescent device a 'viable pipe bomb'

Police have said a viable pipe bomb device was found during a security alert in Hollybrook Crescent, Newtownabbey.

Army bomb disposal experts removed the device for further examination.

A number of people were evacuated from their homes during the alert.

The Valley Leisure Centre was opened for residents who have had to leave their homes.

They have since been allowed to return to their homes.

Sinn Fein Councillor Michael Goodman said those responsible should "wise up".
