NI Water appoints new chief executive a year after post first advertised
A year after the post was first advertised NI Water has appointed a new chief executive.
The chair of the board, Sean Hogan, announced Sara Venning had been appointed to the £150,000 role
Sarah Venning - who joined NI Water in April 2010 as director of customer service delivery - had initially stood in the role during a shortlisting process.
Today, Mr Hogan said the company was "delighted with this appointment which follows a competition that attracted a high calibre competitive field".
"Throughout this process we have always made it clear we were determined to make the correct choice and in Sara we are confident that we have found a highly skilled and experienced individual and the right person to lead this complex and essential service.
"As a board we look forward to working with Sara, her executive team and all the staff within NI Water to build on the stability, continuity and progress that has been established in recent times."
The government-owned company, which has been rocked by a series of crises, has gone through four chief executives since it was formed just over six years ago.
