NI Water under pressure over roadworks delay in Belfast
NI Water has come under further pressure over roadworks at a key east Belfast street being extended until the end of the year.
Outgoing East Belfast MP Naomi Long met NI Water yesterday to voice concerns from residents over the announcement that Mersey Street will continue to be closed off until the end of the year.
NI Water is constructing a sewage system to accommodate new development in the area and also to prevent flooding.
A spokeswoman for NI Water said that due to the poor conditions on the ground, the work would continue until December, instead of May as originally planned.
