North Belfast security alert declared 'elaborate hoax'
A security alert sparked following the discovery of a suspicious object at a house in north Belfast has been declared an "elaborate hoax".
Police and army bomb experts attended the scene of the alert in Upper Meadow Street.
A controlled explosion was carried out and the object has been declared to be an elaborate hoax.
Inspector McCullough said: "Upper Meadow Street has been reopened to traffic and all evacuated residents are now able to return to their homes."
