Northern Bank raid: man denies cash charge
An Irishman has denied laundering almost £600,000 of the proceeds of the Northern Bank robbery in Belfast in December 2004.
Financier Timothy 'Ted' Cunningham (65), of Woodbine Lodge, Farran, Co Cork, has pleaded not guilty before Cork Circuit Criminal Court to nine charges.
Critical to the prosecution will be an alleged £200,000 payment in used Bank of England £20 notes given to a man by Cunningham in 2005.
The trial is expected to last a few weeks.
