Northern Ireland Open: Fans out in force for One Direction heartthrob Niall Horan
One Direction star Niall Horan attracted a few new golfing fans to the NI Open Pro-Am at Galgorm Castle in Ballymena after hordes of teenage girls arrived to see the star tee off.
The Co Westmeath singer - flanked by economy minister Simon Hamilton - also helped open a new Fun Golf Area at the course.
He was joined by other household names like Northern Ireland goalkeeping legend Pat Jennings and ex Ulster Rugby players Stephen Ferris and Paddy Wallace.
Speaking ahead of the Pro-Am, 1D's Niall said he couldn't wait to play Galgorm. Now in its fourth year, the NI Open, in partnership with Ulster Bank, has become one of the stand-out events on the European Challenge Tour.
The festival of golf, which is combined with the dedicated food festival and NI Open Village, will run at Galgorm Castle from July 28-31.
