Nothing found in Thiepval Barracks bomb alert
A bomb alert near the Army’s Northern Ireland headquarters ended after nothing was found, police have said.
The alert near Thiepval Barracks in Lisburn, Co Antrim, had been sparked yesterday after a suspicious item was left at the Belsize Road-Kirkwoods Road roundabout.
The Army examined a holdall bag, but “nothing untoward” was discovered, a PSNI spokeswoman said.
Nearby residents were evacuated from their houses during the alert but returned later.
