Numbers at Presbyterian Church are still falling
The number of families attending the Presbyterian Church in Ireland has fallen below 100,000, according to an internal report.
The church's General Council reported that the total number of families in 2013 was 100,339, but dropped to 98,919 last year.
The number of baptisms dipped by 7% in the same period, while the number of worshippers went down by just over 3,534 to 230,068. The news comes as Presbyterians prepare to install Dr Ian McNie from Trinity Church, Ballymoney, as their new Moderator tonight at a three-day General Assembly.
The 64-year-old father-of-two was nominated by 12 of the 19 presbyteries in February.
