OAP in dock over abuse of boy
A 75-year-old man from Co Londonderry is to go on trial next month to face eight counts of indecent assault and gross indecency against a young boy alleged to have occurred more than 40 years ago.
The man, who cannot be named, appeared at Derry Crown Court yesterday on four counts of indecent assault on a male child between October 26, 1965 and October 28, 1972.
He also faces four counts of gross indecency against a male child over the same dates.
The child was alleged to have been aged between seven and 13 at the time the offences were said to have occurred.
The man pleaded not guilty to all charges.
The court was told the trial was expected to last five days. He was released on continuing bail to appear on February 4.
