Officers hunt man who held knife to woman's throat in Londonderry

A knife was held to a woman's throat in Londonderry, police said.

The victim was walking at Stephen's Court in the Ballymagroarty area when a man approached her at around 8.30pm on Monday.

The PSNI said: "The man held a knife towards the woman's throat and made threats to her. He was accompanied by another male, who was not involved in the incident but was present at the time

"This assault occurred in the vicinity of a mobile shop in a residential area and so there is a possibility that there were other people in the area at the time or immediately before or after."

He appealed for anybody with information to contact police.
