Oil thieves strike home in Ballycastle

Published 08/12/2011

Police in Moyle have warned people to be on the lookout for heating oil thieves after £200 worth of fuel was stolen from a tank in Ballycastle.

The theft occurred at a house in Marconi Park sometime over the previous three weeks.

Sgt Lorraine Connor from Ballycastle PSNI said: “Be on the lookout for any activity that is out of the ordinary. Always make sure that the lid of your own tank is locked with a suitable padlock, and consider fitting sensor lights to brighten up dark areas around your home.”
