The Planning Service has acknowledged receipt of objections to the proposal to build residential units, offices, a 143 bedroom hotel and associated parking at Glenmachan Street. Blackstaff Community Development Association stress the need for an inclusive development plan. The Roads Service and Rivers Agency have been consulted as it would involve greater use of existing roads and possible implications for the Blackstaff River.

Belvoir Presbyterian Church in Dunseverick Avenue, Belvoir Park, have organised a series of information evenings entitled Which Way To Live? The first is on Sunday, September 28, from 6.30pm to 7.30pm. Admission is free. The church’s parents and ‘Tiny Talk’ toddlers group has reopened on Wednesday mornings from 10am–12noon. The Lagan Valley regional park ranger invites you to join him on one of his patrols as part of the series of short walks approximately 2.5 miles in length. The next patrol walk is on Friday, October 3, at 11am, meeting at the Shaw’s Bridge car park. Seasonal changes mean that every month offers new and interesting aspects of our wildlife to look out for. Some parts of the walk may be steep or difficult for which suitable clothing and footwear are recommended. For more details call 9049 1922.
Community Association for Belvoir Milltown and Newtownbreda (CABMAN) said the community house is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9.00am to 12noon, if you require support with any local community or social issues or just want to drop in for a coffee and a chat.
