A four-year-old Belfast boy who captured the hearts of thousands online as he battled with a rare form of cancer has been given the all-clear.

The family of 'Wee' Oscar Knox tweeted the good news earlier today.

Shortly after getting the news he was enjoying a day out at the park with his family.

"Today we got the most unbelievable news, NO cancer can be found in Oscar's body. HE DID IT!!!!" - his family said.

The four-year-old Mallusk boy’s brave fight with neuroblastoma, an aggressive form of cancer, has captured the hearts of tens of thousands of people across Northern Ireland and beyond.

Wee Oscar has become a star in his own right, thanks to his loving parents using Twitter to raise awareness of his plight and ongoing battle with cancer.

His family tweeted a picture of the plucky youngster behind held aloft by father Stephen earlier today.
