Pair held after £17,000 worth of drugs found in Co Down

A man and a woman have been arrested after £17,200 worth of drugs was discovered Magheralin, Co Down.

Quantities of Class A and B drugs were found when police raided a property in the Trinity Square area of the town on Friday morning.

A field test showed that one quantity of drugs was cocaine valued at around £7,200 and the other amount was herbal cannabis worth around £10,000.

A deactivated firearm was also recovered during the raid.

A 29-year-old man and a woman aged have both been arrested on suspicious of possession of Class A and B controlled drugs, possession of Class A and B controlled drugs with intent to supply and possession of a firearm in suspicious circumstances.

They are currently assisting with enquiries.
