Two men have tried to rob a south Belfast fast food outlet at knifepoint.

It happened on the Ormeau Road at about 9.30pm on Thursday.

They fled on foot after being unable to gain access behind the counter.

One of the men is described as being about 30 years old, 5ft 9ins tall with swarthy skin and was wearing a red checked shirt.

The second man was about 6ft tall, of slim build and was wearing a grey coloured tracksuit with the hood up.

There were no reports of any injuries.

Detective Inspector Nigel Snoddy has appealed for anyone who saw anyone matching the suspects' description to contact 101 quoting reference 1622 09/06/16.
