Parkinson’s support meeting

Published 27/08/2008

The North Down Support Group of the Parkinson's Disease Society (PDS) is holding an open meeting for anyone in the area living with Parkinson’s, caring for someone living with the condition, or who simply wants to know more.

The meeting will take place on Thursday, September 4, at the Ards Art Centre, Town Hall, Conway Square, Newtownards from 7pm-9pm.

Paul Fitton, a committee member for the North Down Support group, said: “I would really encourage anyone affected by the condition to attend the meeting as it is an excellent opportunity to get more information on Parkinson’s... at a local level.”

Jan Watters, who is living with Parkinson’s and has recently moved back to Bangor after living in England, said: “I am looking forward to the North Down Support Group meetings because, having previously belonged to the Bridport Branch of the PDS, I know how good it is to spend time with people who understand what living with Parkinson’s is like.”
