Partner of racing doctor John Hinds pays tribute to her 'soulmate'
The partner of Dr John Hinds, who died following a motorbike crash near Dublin, has paid heartfelt tribute to her "soulmate" as mourners gather for his funeral today.
The 35-year-old motorcycle road racing medic was fatally injured in a practice race at the Skerries 100 last Friday.
On Tuesday, bikers lined the motorway from Dublin and did a tribute lap of the Tandragee 100, as Dr Hinds' body was brought back to his family home.
The cortege was led by his partner, Dr Janet Atcheson, who has paid an emotional tribute to Dr Hinds.
Dr Atcheson wrote: "There's a saying, aim for the stars and reach the house tops, you certainly reached the stars. Memories are precious they don't go away, I will love you always, not just today.
"Always and forever, John."
She added: "Forever loved and desperately missed by soulmate Janet."
Dr Hinds' funeral will take place at St Patrick's Church in Portaferry, Co Down, with Requiem Mass at 2pm, followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard.
