A 20-year-old man has died after being struck by a van in Co Londonderry.

The accident happened in Tirkeeran Road, Garvagh, at about 7.40am.

Police said the collision involved a pedestrian and a Volkswagen Caddy van.

Inspector Donna Bowden said: "We are asking any witnesses to the collision to get in touch with police.

"The number to call is 101."
