Pensioner attacked by masked armed men during burglary

A pensioner has been attacked during an armed robbery at his Co Antrim home.

Two masked men forced their way into the house on Mullaghglass Road, Lisburn at around 9.55pm on Friday.

One of the men was armed with a knife and one of the residents, a man aged in his 70s, was attacked.

He was later taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.

Another man in the house - also in his 70s - was uninjured.

PSNI detective sergeant Mason said: "I would ask anyone with any information about this incident to contact CID at Lisburn Police Station on the non emergency number 101."
