Pensioner Samuel Tweed faces weapons arsenal trial 40 years on
A pensioner is to stand trial accused of having a weapons arsenal and escaping from custody nearly 40 years ago.
Samuel Tweed (72), faces charges connected to the discovery of 19 guns and ammunition in Belfast in 1974.
He is alleged to have fled weeks after his arrest and was detained again in September last year.
Tweed, of Mark Street, Newtownards, was released on bail until proceedings get under way at Belfast Crown Court.
He is on a curfew, reporting to police twice a week.
