Petrol bombs thrown at OAP's house

A pensioner has escaped injury after two petrol bombs were thrown at her house.

Police said the attack on the bungalow in the Leckagh Walk area of Magherafelt took place at about 10.10pm last night with only one of the devices igniting.

A window and door of the home were damaged with scorch marks.

The woman, who is aged in her 70s, was inside the bungalow and while she was not injured police said she was left badly shaken by the incident.

Sergeant Bruce Rhymer said: "I would appeal to anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area or who has any information to contact police at Magherafelt on the non-emergency number 101. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."
