Pipe bomb found in north Belfast security alert
A viable pipe bomb type device has been found at a security alert in north Belfast.
The alert was sparked at Lepper Street following the discovery of a suspicious object.
It was examined and declared as a crude but viable pipe bomb type device.
The device has been taken away for forensic examination and roads in the area have reopened.
Inspector McCullough has appealed for anyone with any information about this incident to contact detectives at Musgrave on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
