The PSNI has issued an appeal for information about a hit and run road crash in Co Armagh after which a local man was found dead.

A PSNI spokesman has confirmed that the man killed in the crash on the Shillinghill Road, Armagh on Monday, was James Shields (52) from the Markethill area.

Police probe suspected hit-and-run after man's body discovered in road  

Detective Inspector Colin Patterson said officers would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the early morningcrash.

"I would continue to appeal to anyone who was travelling along the Shillinghill Road before 7am yesterday morning, Monday, 13 May and who may have witnessed this incident, or anyone who has any information about it to contact Police at Armagh on the non-emergency number 101," he said.
