A 22-year-old man has appeared in court charged with bombing Strand Road police station in Londonderry last August.
Martin Eoghan McCloone, from Abercorn Road in Derry, was also charged with possession of explosives with intent to endanger life, hijacking a car, false imprisonment of a taxi driver, possession of a firearm with intent to to commit an indictable offence and membership of a proscribed organisation, namely Oglaigh na hEireann.
He made no reply when the charges were put to him, although a police constable told the court that he could connect the defendant to the charges.
Defence solicitor Paddy MacDermott asked the officer if the only evidence against McCloone was from a mobile phone, and if it was right that there was no forensic evidence against him.
The officer said Mr MacDermott was correct “at this stage”.
The defendant was remanded in custody until January 20
