Police find large cannabis factory

Police have uncovered a substantial cannabis factory in Co Tyrone.

Plants worth about £50,000, cultivation equipment and other drugs paraphernalia were seized when officers raided a house on Mullanmore Road, Carrickmore.

The items have been taken away for further examination.

Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) Inspector Robert McGowan said: " This was a substantial factory and evidence at the scene would suggest a very large number of plants, in addition to those found by police, may have been grown at that location and have since been harvested.

"Officers remain determined to tackle the issue of drugs and to shut down the activities of those involved in their sale and supply in our communities."
