Police issue fresh appeal over fatal crash on A2

Police have renewed an appeal for information about a fatal accident.

It happened on the A2 dual carriageway between Belfast and Bangor on January 23.

The victim of the crash, a man in his 30s from the Bangor area, was driving a silver Jeep Cherokee and travelling towards Bangor.

It is believed that the incident occurred at around 2.10am, with the vehicle coming off the road a short distance after the Ballyrobert Road junction.

Part of the A2 was closed to traffic for most of the morning as a result of the collision.

Anyone who witnessed the car in the run-up to the fatal accident has been asked to contact local police or the collision investigation unit on the non-emergency 101 number, quoting reference number 56 of 23/01/17.
