Police have warned youths who stoned a bus to stop their "senseless and dangerous criminal behaviour".

The warning comes after two separate stone-throwing attacks on Metro buses on the upper Crumlin road in north Belfast on Wednesday evening.

The drivers and passengers on board were not injured in the incidents, although a window was smashed in the second attack.

Inspector Roy Watton warned: "I would also like to send a message directly to those youths. Stop this. You are risking the safety of everyone aboard these buses when you target them like this." He added: "You might think that this is just fooling around but the outcome could be serious injury for another person and a criminal record for you."

The police are also appealing for witnesses or anyone who can identify the youths involved in the incident.
