Police murder hunt over missing man

Police have launched a murder inquiry after obtaining new evidence about the disappearance of a man four years ago.

Mark Gourley, 36, was last seen in the Glengormley area in March 2009.

Mr Gourley, who at the time of his disappearance was described by police as vulnerable, was from the Castlemara area of Carrickfergus.

A PSNI spokesman said: "As a result of new evidence, police have launched a murder investigation."

A senior detective is due to outline further details of the murder investigation tomorrow.
