Police name nightclub death man
A reveller who died in a Portrush nighspot has been named as Colin McLeister.
The father-of-three was pronounced dead inside the Playhouse entertainment complex on Main Street in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The 48-year-old is believed to have fallen down a flight of stairs in the building shortly before 1am.
Police are investigating claims he may have been involved in an altercation at the time.
They have appealed for anyone on the first floor of the nightclub who saw the victim before he fell down the stairs to come forward.
A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident but police stressed that they are still trying to establish exactly what happened.
"There was some sort of altercation before, during or after the fall and whether it was a contributing factor or connected with his death we are not sure," said a source.
"That's something we are trying to piece together.
"There were a lot of people in there drinking in the premises. We want to get witnesses who saw anything they believe may be connected to it to come forward."
A post mortem examination on Mr McLeister's remains will take place on Sunday.
