A police officer has been injured by a stolen car in Co Antrim.

He suffered minor wounds to his leg but did not require hospital treatment, the PSNI said.

The officer was trying to stop suspects fleeing the scene of a creeper burglary in the Lynda Meadows area of Newtownabbey during the early hours of Thursday.

The stolen black Audi also hit a police vehicle before speeding away. It was found abandoned in the Moyard Park area of west Belfast some time later.

Detective Inspector Chris Millar appealed for witnesses.
