Police officer suffers facial injuries after knife attack in Belfast
A police officer has been attacked with a knife as he attended a report of an assault in Belfast.
It happened in the Crumlin Road area of the city on Wednesday afternoon.
It's understood he suffered injuries to his face after being attacked with a Stanley-type knife.
He has been taken to hospital for treatment to injuries not thought to be non-life threatening.
A 16-year-old boy has been arrested for wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon over the attack.
He remains in police custody.
