Police plea after man (61) escapes gun attack

A 61-year-old man has escaped injury in a gun attack on a house in Lurgan in the early hours of Wednesday.

The house at Derry Street in the Co Armagh town was attacked shortly after midnight.

Camille Capraz, who is originally from Turkey but has lived most of his life in Ireland, was at home at the time.

He was uninjured, but damage was caused to a front window and door of the property. Investigations are ongoing and at this stage a motive is yet to be established.

Detective Inspector Will Tate said: "I would appeal to anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area or who has any information to contact detectives at Lurgan on the non-emergency number 101."
