Police probe after woman's body found in Dungannon Black Lough

A woman's body has been removed from the Black Lough in Dungannon.

Police are currently at the scene which they have cordoned off.

The woman's body was recovered from the water and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death is underway.

Sean McCarry from the Community Rescue Service said the body was recovered following planned searches for a missing person.

Mr McCarry told the Belfast Telegraph: "We had planned searches going on for a missing person in the Dungannon area earlier on today when we recovered a body at approximately 10.30am.

"We are working closely with police to make sure all the necessary relatives are informed of the situation and we are in the process of working through this recovery."

He added: "Our thoughts go out to the family."
