Police quiz woman over video of terrifying hard shoulder overtake in Northern Ireland
Police have interviewed a woman over footage posted on social media which showed a car driving using a hard shoulder for an overtaking manoeuvre branded as "reckless".
The woman attended the police station voluntarily on Friday.
In the footage which was posted online, the car appears to be forced to veer onto the hard shoulder on the opposite side of the Limavady Road after trying to overtake as it meets other oncoming traffic.
It happened on the Limavady mountain road at around 8.40am last month and was captured by a dash cam in the vehicle behind.
Chief Inspector Mark McClarence said: “We asked witnesses to contact us about footage on social media which showed a car driving on the Limavady Road on Tuesday 24 January.
“On Friday February 3, a female attended a police station voluntarily and was interviewed by police. A file is currently being prepared for the PPS.
“We would like to thank the public for their assistance in our appeal for information.”
