Police have questioned a youth over the theft of two cars which were stolen after keys were taken during sleeper burglaries.

Officers were quizzing the suspect after a man's vehicle was stolen from his Bangor home just after midnight yesterday.

The car taken from the Lord Warden's Glade property was a silver Renault Scenic.

Two hours later a police patrol on nearby Bangor Road spotted a car matching the description.

And it was later located in the Belvoir area of Belfast, approximately 15 miles away.

Shortly before it was recovered a man from Belvoir View Park reported that his car, a red Audi A3, had also been stolen after someone entered his home and made off with the keys of the vehicle.

When a nearby police patrol responded they arrested a juvenile close to the scene on suspicion of involvement in both of the incidents.

Just 24 hours before, on Monday, a woman living in the same street as the man whose silver Renault was taken had awoken to find a number of males fleeing her house.

Detectives have appealed for more information about the suspected linked incidents.
