Police raid finds 'firearms' cache
Police have uncovered what they described as suspected firearms after a security alert in north Belfast.
Officers said the weaponry was linked to dissident republican activity.
The firearms were taken away to be examined to confirm they are fully operational and not replica guns.
Residents evacuated from the Etna Drive area during the security alert have been allowed to return to their homes.
Superintendent Mark Purdon said: "The actions of police today have undoubtedly thwarted attempts of these criminals to inflict death, injury and misery on the community of North Belfast.
"Police are determined to work to protect communities and would appeal for the public's continued assistance and co-operation."
