Power cut hits Belfast
Thousands of homes and a large shopping centre in south Belfast were left without power for several hours yesterday due to an underground cable fault.
Shoppers had to leave Forestside Shopping Centre after the power cut which affected the Ormeau Road and Annadale Avenue areas.
A spokeswoman for Northern Ireland Electricity said the power cut began at 4.13pm and affected several thousands customers.
She said full service was restored by 7.30pm.
