Power restored after tens of thousands across Northern Ireland affected in power cut
Tens of thousands of homes left without power due to a fault on Northern Ireland Electricity's transmission network, have been restored.
Some homes experienced a temporary outage, lasting just minutes, whereas others have been left with no supply.
The fault on the high voltage transmission network is affected Co Down and parts of Belfast.
There were also reports of traffic lights not working.
A spokeswoman said: "Tens of thousands of customers in parts of County Down and Belfast experienced an interruption to electricity supplies this afternoon after a fault occurred on the high voltage transmission network in the Castlereagh area.
"NIE engineers responded immediately, starting the restoration process to resupply all customers within 30 minutes."
