Presbyterian Moderator meets Sinn Fein and GAA
The Presbyterian Moderator has held talks with the Sinn Fein president and Ulster GAA officials.
Dr Norman Hamilton met Gerry Adams yesterday at Sinn Fein’s offices on the Falls Road.
The meeting, requested by the Sinn Fein leader, lasted 90 minutes and covered a range of issues, including the need for leadership to combat sectarianism, the effect of social deprivation on young people, and building a shared future.
The Moderator described the meeting as a “very good and engaged discussion”.
On Monday, Rev Hamilton met Ulster GAA officials at their offices in Armagh.
Among the topics was the history of both institutions and how both are contributing to a shared future.
Ulster GAA President Aogan O Fearghail described it as an important meeting.
