Probe after pupils get off bus on busy M2 off-slip
An investigation has been launched after dashboard camera footage emerged which appears to show a Translink bus driver letting three schoolchildren off on a busy off-slip during rush hour.
The incident happened on the Sandyknowes M2 motorway on Wednesday. A source said the three boys were from Ballyclare High School and were making their way to rugby practice. UUP councillor for Ballyclare David Arthurs said he would raise the matter with the school today.
"I'm sure the parents aren't impressed with this. It's very dangerous and Sandyknowes is an extremely busy off-slip," he said. "Their lives were put at risk. Whether they asked to be put off the bus is irrelevant, the bus driver should have known the dangers of letting them off at that spot."
A Translink spokeswoman said a "thorough investigation" was under way.
