Seven dogs and six puppies have died during a fire at a shed in Co Fermanagh, police said.

The blaze was reported at 8.15pm on Saturday night., PSNI chief inspector Graham Dodds added. Detectives are investigating whether it was started deliberately.

Mr Dodds said: "This incident is currently being linked to a suspicious object being found in the Clabby Road area on Friday which turned out to be nothing untoward.

"To ensure the protection of the public there will be increased police patrols in the area."

Anybody with information has been asked to contact police.
